Immanuel Lutheran’s middle school is departmentalized and students move among three main classrooms throughout the day. Greater independence is fostered at this level and students are encouraged to develop relationships with their peers and are given guidance on proper social behavior.
Two mathematics classes are made available to students in eighth grade: algebra and pre-algebra. Immanuel Lutheran also offers elective programs allowing students to select classes of interest to them such as Life Skills, STEAM, Hand Chimes, etc. Middle school students participate in unique field trips. Sixth graders visit Walcamp for an outdoor education, seventh graders visit Springfield, Illinois, to learn about Illinois’ history, and eighth graders visit Potosi, Missouri, for a week of team-building.
